Changes Made To Game Day Shuttle For Homecoming

DENTON – The routes for Mean Green Game Day Shuttle have been adjusted for the homecoming game against Rice on Saturday, Oct. 27, to accommodate downtown activities and street closures associated with Denton's Day of the Dead Festival.

Street closures in downtown Denton as part of the homecoming parade and the Day of the Dead Festival require the shuttle route changes for this week only.

The free, hop-on/hop-off Mean Green Game Day shuttles will run continuously between the Euline Brock Downtown Denton Transit Center and the North Texas Blvd. pedestrian bridge beginning at noon and ending one hour after the game ends. The route from downtown to Apogee Stadium will utilize westbound Oak Street to North Texas Blvd. The route from Apogee Stadium to back to the transit center is where the adjustment has been made for this game only, and will utilize westbound McKinney Street instead of the usual Hickory Street.

Mean Green Game Day shuttles are Denton County Transportation Authority motorcoaches with identifying Mean Green Game Day signage.

Shuttles stops are noted on the map below:

  • Westbound from Transit Center:
    • Eastside (Oak St. at Austin St.)
  • Eastbound from Apogee Stadium:
    • Lucky Lou's and the Fry Street District
    • Corner of McKinney and Elm Street
    • McKinney Street at Bearded Monk and Denton County Brewing
    • McKinney Street at Oakland
