North Texas Finishes Tough Final Round At Aggie Invitational

April 8, 2018

BRYAN, Texas - After finishing the second round Sunday morning, the North Texas men's golf team finished in 11th place to complete the Aggie Invitational, at the par-72 Traditions Golf Club.

"We had a great opportunity this week to move up the rankings but let too many shots get away from us the last two rounds," head coach Brad Stracke. "Currently, we are the top ranked team in Conference USA and we will be working hard to compete for another Conference Championship in two weeks."

In the second round, North Texas shot 304 (+16) to sit in ninth place among 14 teams, including eight ranked teams. In the final round, the Mean Green finished with a 305 (+17) to finish ahead of three teams in New Mexico, New Mexico State and Denver.

Oklahoma State, The top-ranked team in the nation, won the tournament with an impressive final round 277 (-11). Kent State, ranked 31st in the nation, shot a final round three-under par to finish runner-up.

Junior Ian Snyman, ranked No. 65 in the nation, shot his worst round of the tournament with a five-over par 77. Snyman finished with a three-round total of 224 to finish in a tie for 26th.
