"We are excited to get our season off and running," head coach Michael Akers
said. "The scores and attitude in qualifying are an obvious sign this program has taken the step I wanted."
North Texas' lineup comprised of senior Sabina Pena
, freshman Patty Sinolungan
, freshman Audrey Tan
, senior Sol Lee
and sophomore Claire Cameron
, with junior Lauren Cox
and sophomore Madison Lewis
competing as individuals.
The matchups against Murray State in the duel are:
Pena vs. Rian Moores
Sinolungan vs. Kitana Hollins
Tan vs. Brooke Irion
Lee vs. Paige Clinton
Cameron vs. Makenzie Rogers
"The thought process setting up this match was to best prepare us for Minnesota," Akers continued. "Dornick Hills has bent grass greens which we will see in Minnesota. This was also a chance to play in Bruzzy's backyard and see the golf course his uncle (Perry Maxwell) designed. We are thankful to Coach Al Smith and Murray State for setting up the match."
The 18-hole duel tees off with the first pairs starting at 2 p.m. CT.
