As a part of the initial phase of the Light The Tower Master Plan, North Texas broke ground on the Lovelace and McNatt Families Practice Facility in September, 2018. It was completed in 2019.
The Lovelace and McNatt Families Practice Facility, named for the Mean Green donors who made the facility possible, is located off South Bonnie Brae Street, adjacent to the Athletic Center and the Victory Hall dorm. It features:
- A temperature-controlled environment for practice during inclement and hot weather
- Elevated photography/videography platforms
- A football field and track running lanes
- A lobby, restrooms and a lounge for entertaining recruits
The Lovelace and McNatt Families Practice Facility will also maximize student-athlete safety and time-efficiency; allow UNT to stay competitive with other universities in the conference and region; be football focused but also a multi-sport facility, and provide flexibility for other events; and provide a positive visual connection to DATCU Stadium and reinforce campus identity from Interstate 35E.
