VOLUNTEER COACH LAWSUIT INFORMATION
NCAA Division I Volunteer Coaches Lawsuit (Ray v. NCAA)
Attention: If you worked as a volunteer coach for any NCAA Division I athletics program (except for baseball) between March 17, 2019, and June 30, 2023, you could be affected by an ongoing class action lawsuit.
A lawsuit is pending against the NCAA that challenges the NCAA’s rules prohibiting schools from paying wages, salaries, or benefits to Division I athletic coaches, in sports other than baseball, who were designated as “volunteer coaches.” The lawsuit alleges the rules were anticompetitive and seeks to obtain monetary damages on behalf of volunteer coaches from the NCAA.
If you worked as a volunteer coach during this time frame and in an eligible sport you may be entitled to be a part of the class action lawsuit.
