The Mean Green Sports Network, presented by Learfield, broadcasts UNT athletics on 97.1 The Eagle (flagship station for Mean Green football broadcasts) and KHYI 95.3 FM The Range for men's basketball and coaches shows reaching throughout DFW, North Texas and into Oklahoma. Broadcasts are available worldwide through The Varsity Network app and online. The Varsity Network app is the exclusive home for Mean Green women's basketball broadcasts.
Mean Green broadcasts are led by North Texas alumnus Dave Barnett on play-by-play and Hank Dickenson on color commentary of football and men's basketball, and Zac Babb handles play-by-play of Mean Green women's basketball.

DAVE BARNETT
"Voice of the Mean Green"
Barnett, a two-time Emmy-award winner, took over play-by-play duties for Mean Green football and men's basketball following the retirement of George Dunham in spring 2015. A native of Denton, a graduate of Denton High and a 1979 graduate of North Texas, Barnett is one of the most renowned broadcasters to emerge from Bill Mercer's sportscasting program. Before his senior year at North Texas, Barnett landed a job at KRLD in Dallas, and, at just 23 years of age, became the play-by-play man for Dallas Mavericks. Barnett called NBA games for 16 years, seven for Dallas and nine with the San Antonio Spurs. He also called Southwest Conference college football and basketball games, then went to work for ESPN for 13 years before becoming the play-by-play man for the Texas Rangers in 2009. Barnett has worked Big 12 college basketball and baseball for Fox Sports.

HANK DICKENSON
Dickenson has been involved with North Texas since 1995, holding various administrative roles including 15 years as Deputy Athletic Director before retiring from full-time duties after 25 years in 2020. He has been on the radio network providing color commentary for Mean Green football and men's basketball games and assorted talent roles on ESPN+ productions. He has done on-air work at the Kansas, VCU, Radford, and Emporia State. Dickenson teaches Sports Broadcast 3330 and 3340 as an adjunct professor at UNT and serves as the Director of Membership for the Denton Chamber of Commerce.

ZAC BABB
Babb has served as the voice of Mean Green women’s basketball since the 2019-20 season. A native of Houston, Babb attended North Texas and received his degree in Broadcast Media through the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences in 2017. He has more than 10 years of broadcasting experience at various levels and capacities, including stints with iHeartMedia, Audacy, Cumulus Media, the Texas Sports Radio Network, and Varsity Wires.
