An outstanding defensive lineman for the North Texas football team from 1938 to 1940, Dee Walker was a member of back-to-back Lone Star Conference championship teams in 1939 and 1940. He was named first team All-Lone Star Conference following the 1940 season.
Walker returned to North Texas in 1946 to become a long-time assistant coach under Odus Mitchell.
