Mariza (Martinez) Lerma (2008-11) was the first softball player in school history to be named to the NFCA All-Central Region First Team, which she did as a sophomore. She earned all-conference recognition twice and is a mainstay in the North Texas record book, ranking top-10 in several major career categories that include home runs (2^nd), runs scored (2^nd), RBI (4^th), hits (4^th), at-bats (4^th) doubles (T-5^th), total bases (5^th), batting average (8^th), and slugging percentage (10^th).
