Mandatory Clinic & Tryout Dates:
All forms and information due by or before May 18

Submission of Paperwork:
Please note that all appropriate paperwork should be downloaded, printed, completed, and returned by or before Thursday May 18th.
Appropriate materials to complete application process include
(1) Tryout information sheet, and
(2) Consent, release & authorization
(3) Proof of personal insurance (copy of insurance ID card)
If you are an incoming freshmen to the University you will also need to provide
(1) A copy of your official letter of acceptance to the university.
Return appropriate materials to North Texas Athletics, Attention: Cheer Tryouts,
Material to be Reviewed at Tryouts:
Tryout material will consist of the following components.
Interview, Appearance, Cheer, Fight Song (males and females), and Dance (females).
Stunts: Tumbling:
Toss hands (Pop Down) Standing Back Tuck
Walk-in to Hands (Cradle) Standing Back Handspring Back Tuck
Toss Extension (Cradle) Round-off Back Handspring Back Tuck
Liberty Heel stretch (Full Down)
Optional Stunt
There will be additional consideration given based on the applicant’s performance and attitude during the entire tryout.

Additional Info
- Tryout Attire
Girls - Sports Bra (Green, black or white) Black shorts.
Hair needs to be half up half down.
Guys - Green or White t-shirt. Black shorts.
Well-groomed collegiate look.
Shoes - athletic/tennis shoes no flip flops or bare feet
- No hats, rags or caps. You will be in front of people, so look as collegiate as possible.
- Stunt partners - The required stunts for tryouts must be performed by those trying out. Optional stunt, which is usually more difficult, can be performed by a non-try out participant partner after partner has signed a release waiver.
