Information for Parents of Student-Athletes
As a parent of a student-athlete you are in a unique position to not only cheer on, but assist your son or daughter in choosing a college. The University North Texas is committed and obligated to the principle of institutional control in operating its athletics programs in accordance with NCAA, Conference and University rules and regulations. The charge of the compliance office is to educate, monitor, and verify NCAA rules compliance with regard to each sport and component within the Athletic Department.
Your questions and concerns are always welcome by the compliance office. While we cannot speak for the coaches recruiting your son or daughter, we are allowed to answer the many questions you may have about NCAA compliance. It is important for you to ask as many questions as possible to ensure that your child will be eligible for collegiate competition. We have compiled information which is most commonly requested by parents of student-athletes. However, there is much more information available throughout our Mean Green Compliance website.
The compliance office strives to be proactive with education along with having cohesive monitoring systems that are effective and user friendly. All components within an athletic program must work together and each function properly, effectively and efficiently to insure compliance. We believe that your child's college education will be greatly enhanced by participation in athletics. The University of North Texas is an institution that can provide a home to develop your child into a future leader on the field and off.
