M.E.A.N. G.R.E.E.N C.U.P.
There are 30 ways for an individual/team to earn points towards their team total. They are as follows:
Life Skill Events:
These include events such as speakers, seminars, and lectures. For a team to be awarded 100 points, 75% of its members must attend. If these standards are not met, 5 points will be awarded for each individual team member that attends up to 50 points.
Home Competitions:
Teams and individuals can earn points by attending the competitions of other Mean Green Athletic teams. For a team to be awarded 100 points, at least 75% of the team must attend. If these standards are not met, 5 points will be awarded for each individual team member that attends up to 50 points.
SAAC:
Teams will earn 5 points for each representative that attends a meeting or event.
Academics:
1. Top three teams:
a. Team #1 will receive 500 Points
b. Team #2 will receive 300 Points
c. Team #3 will receive 200 Points
2. Team members who earn Presidents Academic Award (40 Points)
3. Team members who earn Dean List Award (30 Points)
4. Team members who earn Athletic Director Award (20 Points)
5. Team members who earn Academic All-Conference (20 Points)
6. Team members who earn National Academic Awards (20 Points)
7. Team members who earn Conference Scholar Athlete of the Year (30 Points)
Career Development:
1. Team members who complete a resume will receive 30 Points (resume must be taken to a career services representative at the Career Center or at Academic Services Center during the spring semester and evaluated. Bring a copy of the original resume and the edited/corrected version to Athletics to receive credit).
2. Team members who complete a mock interview through Career Services will receive 35 Points.
3. Team members who complete five cover letters will receive 40 Points (find five job postings for jobs in your intended field and prepare a brief summary of why you are qualified for each position and submit the summaries to the Athletic Department).
Personal Development:
1. Team members who participate in a student organization will receive 40 Points (must be listed on the organization’s roster and active in the organization’s regular business to receive points; SAAC does not qualify).
2. Team members who attend on-campus speaker events will receive 20 Points (must fill out form similar to Cultures and Civilizations and return them to Athletics to receive credit).
3. Team members who attend a voluntary alcohol education class or speaker will receive 20 Points (must fill out a form similar to Cultures and Civilizations and return it to Athletics to receive credit).
4. Team members who attend a nutrition class or speaker will receive 20 Points (must fill out a form similar to Cultures and Civilizations and return it to Athletics to receive credit).
5. Team members who attend a campus play or music concert will receive 20 Points (must fill out a form similar to Cultures and Civilizations and return it to Athletics to receive credit).
Service Commitment (20 Points each):
1. Involvement in a mentoring program (on or off campus).
2. Volunteering to tutor fellow students through the Learning Center.
3. Participating in a community speaking engagement.
4. Volunteering at a soup kitchen.
5. Participating in a SAAC fundraiser.
6. Reading to or participating in an event for grade school children.
7. Participating in Kettle Drive (Max. = to smallest team number).
8. Involvement in other approved community service initiatives (coach/team must submit a proposal and have it approved).
