The newest batch of golf rankings came out today and the North Texas men have climbed into the top-50 of both the Golfweek and Golfstat rankings. The Mean Green is No. 44 in the Golfweek rankings and 47th in Golfstat.
Not bad considering that Coach Stracke is still steaming about his teams 13th place finish at the Golfweek Challenge a week ago.
There are some silver linings for Stracke and company to take heart with. North Texas has a strength of schedule of 24 and three wins over top-25 teams. Last season North Texas was 0-10 against top-25 teams.
With one more tournament to go in the fall, no doubt Stracke wants to see that number get into the top-40 or higher.
One the women's side the girls remain No. 41 in the Golfweek rankings but have slipped to 56th in the Golfstat rankings. Not sure for the wide discrepancy in the two, but Jeff Mitchell's bunch has the 12th most difficult schedule right now in the nation.
