No. 14 - Vidal Carlin
Number 14 brings us to one of North Texas' most prolific passers in Vidal Carlin.
Playing just two seasons for the Mean Green, Carlin holds numerous top-10 records in the most up-to-date record books.
Vidal and North Texas struggled in 1965, finishing the year with a 3-7 record, but his 341 pass attempts were good enough to put him 5th all-time in attempts in a season.
The 1966 season was nicer to North Texas as the Mean Green registered a 8-2 record and were named the Missouri Valley Conference Champions.
Carlin hooked up with John Love for a 72-yard touchdown against Cincinnati that year, a play that still stands as the 11th longest pass play in program history.
He is seventh in career passing TD's with 25 and seventh in career yards with 3,233. Carlin also notched the fifth most 200-yard passing games with eight.
Carlin's two years at North Texas were so successful that he became an NFL draft pick the next spring when the St. Louis Cardinals took him in the third round.
