Mean Green Named T&F All-Conference

DALLAS – North Texas received seven nods on the 2020 Conference USA Indoor Track and Field All-Conference Teams that were determined at the conference championships held February 22-23 in Birmingham, Alabama.
Individuals winning their respective events were named First Team All-Conference, those earning runner-up honors were Second Team, and those placing third were named Third Team All-Conference.
Aneesa Scott claimed a pair of honors with a second-place finish in the 400-meter dash in 54.38 seconds and ran a 24.13 in the 200 for third.
Bailey Ashmore upped her North Texas pole vault program record along with being named to the second team with a mark of 4.06 meters. Also in pole vault, Sydney Salinas secured a spot on the third team at 3.86 meters.
Karlington Anunagba ran the 60-meter dash in 6.73 to garner second team accolades.
Jaleisa Shaffer improved her UNT shot put record to 15.50 meters for third team recognition, and Lyric Choice also landed on the third team with her 8.58-second performance in the 60-meter hurdles.
The Mean Green return to competition March 12 at UT Arlington for the 2020 outdoor season.
