DENTON – North Texas track and field garnered nine all-conference accolades at the 2021 Conference USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, the highest-ever C-USA award total for the Mean Green.
Â
The previous high was a combined eight all-conference nods at the 2019 Championships.
Â
Zion Hill was represented on the First Team with his UNT record-setting javelin throw of 74.09 meters and remains just the second Mean Green to become an event champion. Hill also won the title in 2019 and joins Clifton Collins in the record books who ran to the 400-meter title in 2014.
Â
The North Texas men placed three on the Second Team. Karlington Anunagba was the runner-up in the 100 with a time of 10.32 seconds, while Davonye Jones came in second in the 200 in a career-best time of 20.80 seconds.
