MGSF Announces Diversity and Inclusion Fund

DENTON – The Mean Green Scholarship Fund has announced the creation of the Athletics Diversity & Inclusion Fund. The fund serves as an extension of the ongoing efforts of Mean Green Athletics and the University of North Texas to enhance learning and growth in the areas of diversity, equity and inclusion.
The Athletics Diversity & Inclusion Fund is designed to provide an avenue of funding for the purpose of thoughtful, meaningful and actionable items for initiatives aimed at improving the understanding of student-athletes, staff and coaches. Through these initiatives, the fund will engage and enhance ongoing positive dialog in order to improve the student-athlete experience at UNT by addressing the unique challenges faced by each member of our diverse community.
"Inclusive excellence is a critical component of our mission to Build Champions and Prepare Leaders," said Vice President and Director of Athletics Wren Baker. "The establishment of this fund further demonstrates our commitment to ensure our student-athletes, coaches and staff are educated and equipped to serve as leaders in our community on these important issues."

These initiatives will continue to expand and evolve over time to further meet the needs of student-athletes and staff members.
Mean Green Athletics staff have already laid a strong foundation for the Athletics Diversity & Inclusion Fund through personal contributions.
