DENTON - The Fall 2022 semester marked another one of success for the UNT athletic department, as the entire athletic program notched a semester GPA over 3.0 for the seventh consecutive semester.
"Ultimately, our mission is to Build Champions and Prepare Leaders, and our academic performance over the past semester shows our student-athletes' dedication to success both in the classroom and in competition," Vice President and Director of Athletics Jared Mosley said. "I'm proud of their accomplishments and look forward to another strong semester this spring."
The women's tennis team led the department with a 3.84 team GPA - its highest semester team GPA ever - and posted a 100% Graduation Success Rate for the seventh straight year, while volleyball also posted a 100% rate for the second straight year.
In all, there were 47 student-athletes named to the President's List (4.0 GPA), 64 to the Dean's List (3.5-3.99 GPA) and 81 to the Honor Roll (3.0-3.49). Eleven teams posted a semester GPA over 3.0, while 12 finished with a cumulative GPA over 3.0, and 10 teams finished with semester and cumulative GPAs over 3.2. Eleven of 12 teams also posted GSR numbers of greater than 80%, and the department posted its third-highest GSR figure (84%) in history.
A few notable team streaks included 23 consecutive semesters of 3.0 or better for volleyball, 22 for tennis, 17 for swimming and diving, 14 for soccer and 13 each for both men's and women's cross country.
