Track & Field Hosts Conference USA Outdoor Championships

Both the Mean Green men’s and women’s teams are ranked No. 5 in C-USA
DENTON, Texas – North Texas track & field will host the 2023 Conference USA Outdoor Championships Thursday through Sunday at the Soccer and Track & Field Stadium.

Coming into the meet, KeAyla Dove is ranked No. 6 in the West in the women's shot put, while Jaleisa Shaffer is 31st. Madison Sloan is 39th in the West in the hammer throw.Â

On the men's side West rankings, Karlington Anunagba is 23rd in the 100 meters, Wardell Glaspie is 15th in the discus, Kevin Grubbs is 19th in the discus, Brock Hottel is 27th in the pole vault, and Vitus Hansgaard is 27th in the javelin.

Both the UNT men's and women's teams are ranked No. 5 in the conference by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

Live results will be provided by Black Squirrel Timing. Running events will be streamed live on CUSA.tv for free on Saturdayand Sunday.

The championship meet begins Thursday at 2:45 p.m. CT with the heptathlon, followed by the decathlon at 3:15 p.m. CT. Multi-events will finish up on Friday. Friday's field events will begin with the men's hammer throw at 2 p.m. CT, while running events start with the women's 10,000 meters at 8 p.m. CT.Â

Saturday begins with the men's discus at 1 p.m. CT, while running prelims kick off with the women's 1,500 meters at 5:30 p.m. CT.

The championships conclude Sunday, starting with the women's shot put at 1 p.m. CT. Running events begin at 6 p.m. CT with the women's 4x100-meter relay. The awards ceremony will commence following the conclusion of the meet.Â

Tickets will be available at MeanGreenTickets.com as well as on site at the ticket booth. Admission prices are $15 for adults and $10 for ages 3-17.
