Hope this communication finds everyone in Mean Green Nation well and ready to take on second half of football season. What a great comeback for our team in Boca Raton last weekend and we look forward to several Mean Green contests from our Fall sport programs here at home and on the road. As always, we appreciate the questions for our 'Ask the AD' feature.
Shortly after we released our 'Ask the AD', I had the opportunity to join Sanoe Valente and JD Davis on the North Texas Eagle podcast where I covered several of the questions that came in, including conference realignment, fan support and attendance, as well as a number of additional topics. You can CLICK HERE to listen in to the North Texas Eagle podcast.
We hope to see everyone next week at DATCU Stadium for Homecoming as we host a strong Tulane Football program. We encourage you to purchase your tickets, come early, and cheer on Coach Eric Morris and the Mean Green Football student-athletes to victory.
To wrap up, here are a couple of responses to questions that came in.
Are there any plans to expand change the alumni pavilion in the future? Opening it up to everyone has been a great move. Would love to see something like a sports bar setup for home games and away games with some additional TVs or something similar (@The_UNT_SZN)
We are constantly evaluating all ideas that add to or enhance our game day environment. The alumni pavilion has been a tremendous addition to DATCU Stadium on game day since it was built. We have looked at other options to add to the footprint of the stadium, but please send any ideas or questions to my email at Athletic.Director@unt.edu.
Scheduling times are not announced soon enough for travel purposes, is this due to television or broadcast concerns or would it be possible to announce game times and other scheduling items prior to the season beginning? (@Bobbell00)
JM: All football kick times are announced by our broadcast partner ESPN. Those are generally announced 12 days out, but at some points can be optioned to a six-day window. This is the same process used in other conferences like the SEC, Big Ten and Big 12.
Can we get the full men's basketball schedule announced? (@LegacyTip)
JM: Our coaches are hard at work wrapping up the men's basketball regular season schedule. In the meantime, all announced opponents, dates and tip times can be found HERE.
