
Another Strong Academic Progress Rate Announced

DENTON, Texas – UNT Athletics recorded an overall Academic Progress Rate (APR) of 986 for the 2023-24 academic year—the third highest in school history—highlighted by eight programs earning perfect single-year APR scores of 1,000 and 10 of the department's 14 teams either improving or maintaining their single-year scores.
The UNT women's tennis team extended its remarkable streak by earning a perfect single-year APR score of 1,000 for the 14th consecutive year, while also notching a perfect multi-year rate for the 10th straight season. Men's golf, women's golf, and women's cross country each recorded their fifth consecutive perfect single-year scores.
A total of nine Mean Green teams recorded single-year APR scores of 980 or higher. The women's soccer program continued its consistent academic excellence, achieving an APR of 980 or above for the 13th year in a row.
Four UNT teams posted perfect multi-year APR scores of 1,000. Overall, eight programs either improved or maintained their multi-year scores.
Men's basketball reached a milestone with a perfect 1,000 single-year APR—only the second in program history and the first since 2009-10. Women's basketball achieved its highest-ever multi-year APR for the second straight year with a 995.
