IRVING, Texas - UNT senior Hendrick Hundl earned the nod for the American Conference's Men's Indoor Track Most Outstanding Performance for his win in the 60-Meter Hurdles on Saturday in Birmingham, Alabama, at the American Championship meet.
The award is presented each year to the athlete who recorded the highest-ranking marks on the NCAA's Division I performance list during the Championships.
Hundl's meet record time of 7.70 also broke his own program record and was one of five gold medals won by the Mean Green. His time ranks 31st nationally this year in the event.
"I'm extremely happy for Hendrick," UNT director of track and field Doug Marshall said. "He's a guy that always focuses on himself and pushes to continue to make himself, and those around him, better."Â
The Mean Green will be back in competition when the outdoor season begins March 20-21 at TCU.
