On this episode of #GMGCast, Zac Babb and Hank Dickenson talk with two North Texas legends and trailblazers in Abner Haynes and Dr. Leon King. We discuss their time at North Texas, their struggles against racism while integrating college football in the state of Texas, their careers after they graduated, and the unveiling of the new Unity Plaza honoring them for their accomplishments both on and off the field.
That's followed up by a trip down the corridor of years in "Babbling with Hank." This time, Zac and Hank are joined by former North Texas student-athlete and Hall of Famer C. Dan Smith to recount the 1959 football season. Smith was a part of that team that included the Mean Green's first ever ranking in the AP Poll as well as a berth in the 1959 Sun Bowl in El Paso.
