We are excited about your interest in the University of North Texas and Mean Green women's basketball, a program which has a rich history and an exciting future.
Under 2002 UNT graduate and fourth-year head coach Jalie Mitchell, the Mean Green have made a return to prominence, similar to when Mitchell was an all-conference guard at UNT.Â
The Mean Green have improved its win total each season since Mitchell returned to Denton, including more than doubling their win total in her first season (2015-16). But North Texas made its largest jump last season in 2017-18 when it posted its first winning season in 12 years and reached a conference tournament semifinal for the first time in 16 years when Mitchell was a senior at UNT. For her program's success, Mitchell was given a four-year contract extension at the end of the 2017-18 season.
In 2017-18, the Mean Green were led by guard Terriell Bradley who scored 578 points, the third-most in a single season in program history and more than Mitchell, the school's all-time leading scorer, ever scored in a single year. Bradley was named first team all-conference and returns in 2018-19 for her senior season.Â

The Women's Basketball Coaching Staff
Please note that, per NCAA rules, coaches can only respond via e-mail to juniors (after September 1) and seniors in high school. Coaches must mail responses to freshmen and sophomores, per NCAA rules. You can call any North Texas coach, but they cannot return your phone call unless you are a senior in high school.
Facilities
Recognized as one of the finest college basketball facilities in the nation, the Super Pit is home to both the University of North Texas men's and women's basketball teams. The women's basketball locker room was most recently renovated in 2017.
Built in 1973, the Super Pit is designed for multi-purpose use and is frequently the setting for concerts and theater stage productions as well as athletic events. In 2013, the "E" Practice Facility opened, providing the men's and women's basketball teams with their own practice court.
Named for its benefactor, alumnus Ernie Kuehne, who spearheaded the fund raising to build a practice facility for the men's and women's basketball teams, softball, and golf, the "E" is located in the Mean Green Village on the west side of Bonnie Brae St. across the driveway from the Volleyball Center. The facility's centerpiece is a full-length basketball court, complete with lockerrooms and scoreboard, allowing Mean Green basketball players to practice at any time.

Academic Athletic Services
In the Fall of 2005, the academic and compliance staff relocated to the Mean Green Village. Located on Bonnie Brae, the new Student-Athlete Development Center is three times the size of the former academic center. The Center serves as the cornerstone of the Mean Green Village and is only a short walk from the surrounding sports facilities.
