We will be removing the umbrella giving approach and Institute individual sport per Seat obligation to the MGSF. Currently gifts to the MGSF are cumulative for football and basketball. Beginning this year, we will separate these giving requirements and require separate per seat minimums for football season tickets and basketball season tickets.
As an example, if you have two seats in section 205 for Football that require a seat obligation of $150 ($300 total), and two seats in section 107 for men’s basketball with a $25 per seat obligation ($50 total), a seating obligation of $350 is required.Men's Basketball | Women's Basketball | Football
• Provide patron clarity for purchasing season tickets to multiple sports
• Transition provides opportunity to align with industry best practices both in the American, our Texas peers and in the DFW marketplace
• Provide a more direct and simplistic entry point for patrons
• Allows UNT Athletics the ability to appropriately plan and budget to retain successful coaches and staff
• Due to stadium naming rights renegotiation and transition to the American it was time to rethink our premium seating structure to bring it up to date with best practices
• Create a more simplistic system
• Allow an easier entry point for access and fill the HUB Club on gamedays
• This is a proactive approach to sharing the changing ticketing prices as we provide transparency compared to our peers.
• After not having an FB premium seating increase in five seasons and to bring our pricing to more appropriately align with the upgraded home schedule
• The increased investment will help maintain the department’s day to day operations and allow us to remain competitive in the ever-changing landscape of college athletics
• Continued levels of investment are needed to position UNT for success as we move into the American. Current and future pricing maintains that Mean Green fans will continue to pay premium prices in the bottom quarter of the American and current FBS schools in the state of Texas.
• Having a priority point system is UNT’s best way to provide a fair and equitable experience for all donors to the Mean Green Scholarship Fund. Priority points accumulate to create an account’s priority point ranking which is used to determine new seat requests, additional seat requests, seat relocation requests, post-season ticket allocation and any other time rankings are needed.
• Affordability is important to UNT athletics as reflected in the price changes compared to our peers in the American and DFW market.
• To be more appropriately priced but not make a single year price increase that is extreme to allow patrons to prepare appropriately
• Incremental increases will allow donors to be prepared
• The June 30th deadline helps UNT maintain fiscal responsibility and accountability by ensuring prompt payments on student-athlete scholarships and to ensure consistent distribution of benefits (season parking passes, credentials, etc.)
• Benefits will be based on two giving factors: 1. Your priority seating contributions (basketball & football) 2. Philanthropic dollars to support student athlete scholarship dollars
• Annual Benefits will be given based on annual gifts
• Parking and hospitality benefits are given based on MGSF giving not number of tickets
