Ava Jestis joined the UNT Athletics staff in May 2023 and was elevated to Director Marketing and Fan Engagement in August of 2026.
In her role, Jestis serves as the marketing contact for UNT men's and women's basketball and football tailgating. As the former Assistant Director of Marketing and Fan Engagement, she oversaw soccer, volleyball, and the internship program. She also helps oversee the UNT Maniacs, one of the fastest growing student sections in college athletics.
Jestis started her career at UNT as a Marketing and Fan Engagement Assistant before being elevated to Assistant Director and now Director in her current role.
A native of Fort Worth, Texas, Ava received her Bachelor’s of Science in Event Design Experience Management with a minor in Recreation Event Sport Management from the University of North Texas in May of 2024. Ava obtained her MBA in Sports Business Administration at UNT in July of 2026 making her a two-degree graduate of UNT.
During her time with the University she spent five years on the University’s cheer team, spending her last two years as the team captain.Â
