Dalton Leightner was hired by UNT athletics as an Assistant Athletic Trainer in July 2025.Â
Prior to his time in Denton, Leightner was a trainer for the New York Jets from May 2023 to July 2025.Â
Leightner worked as a resident athletic trainer for men’s tennis and football at Georgia Tech from Sept. 2022 to April 2023.Â
His first NFL stop came in the summers of 2019, 2021 and 2022 as Leightner served as an athletic training intern with the Cleveland Browns.Â
Leightner graduated from Baldwin Wallace University with a Bachelor of Arts in Athletic Training in May 2021 and a master of Business Administration in Healthcare Management in July 2022. Leightner was also a member of the wrestling team, receiving honors as a three-time scholar All-American, two-time national qualifier and was a first-team All-American in 2019-20.Â
