Matt Witty serves as the Executive Senior Associate AD/CFO for The University of North Texas Athletics.
Witty joined the University of North Texas staff in Mayof 2017 as the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Business Operations. He oversees the fiscal and business operations of North Texas Athletics and is responsible for strategic financial planning, the creation and implementation of capital and operating budgets, and the development and management of financial control systems. He is a member of the athletics department's Executive Staff and oversees Human Resources, IT Systems and the Women’s Soccer Program. He is involved in all facets of strategic and operational planning and collaborates with the Director of Athletics on a variety of projects.
In the summer of 2025, Witty was honored by the College Athletic Business Management Administration (CAMBA) as the 2025 Manager of the Year.
Witty came to North Texas from JumpForward where he oversaw the product development, sales and implementation of their finance and inventory management solutions.
Witty started his career at San Jose State University in 2001 where he ultimately became the Associate AD for Finance/CFO before leaving to be an Owner/Operator Candidate for McDonald’s franchises in 2013. During his career, he has also worked at The University of Wisconsin, Marshall University and Ball State University working on both the internal and external sides of the operation. Â
Witty earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Administration from Ball State in 2001 his Master of Science degree in Sport Marketing and Management from Marshall in 2008.
He and his wife, Kathy, have two children, Claire and Bryce.
