North Texas Holds Spring Game

DENTON (3/10/05) - The White team held on to a 7-6 victory in the North Texas football's annual Spring game on Thursday night at Fouts Field.
Joey Byerly was the game's leading passer and rusher in the intrasquad game. He completed 9-of-24 passes for 150 yards, including a touchdown pass to Green teammate Johnny Quinn. The wide receiver caught the 15-yard touchdown pass, but the Green team failed on a two-point conversion that would have won the game. Travis Thompson had the game's only interception.
The game closed out the spring season for the North Texas football team. The Mean Green open the fall season at LSU on Sept. 3.
