DENTON (8/11/05) - Despite the rain, the Mean Green football team continued with a detail-oriented, no-contact practice.

Head coach Darrell Dickey broke each position up into groups and had each unit work on its core fundamentals. The receivers and quarterbacks ran pass patterns together, while the offensive and defensive lines worked on hand positioning.

The varsity offense and defense practiced together for the first time today, working placement on short and midrange patterns.

The freshmen will get their first taste of college football when they join the varsity for the first time tomorrow morning. Two-a-days begin on Monday, leading into the first scrimmage on Saturday.
