Duties Throughout the Year
During the summer, the North Texas Dancers attend weekly practices to begin preparation for the upcoming seasons. They perform at numerous Freshmen Orientations and other appearances. At the end of the summer, the dancers practice for two weeks learning all cheers, sidelines, tags, and half-time shows for football games/pep rallies.
Fall brings football season, which in return means much excitement and fun for the dancers. The dancers are required to attend and perform at all home games and selected away games. In addition to cheering on the sidelines, the dancers also perform at the Friday Night @ Clark Park Pep Rallies, half-time routines and at tailgate functions before each game. Close to the end of the semester, basketball season begins.
In Winter, basketball season is in full swing. The dancers perform at all men's and women’s home games. Prep Classes begin in the late winter to help incoming candidates prepare for auditions. Competition season also begins as the dancers prepare to compete with other Universities at National Competitions.
In the Spring, basketball season finishes up with post-season games and the Sun Belt Conference Tournament.
To end out the year, tryouts are held for the next season.
