UNT Boasts 221 American All-Academic Team Selections

Mean Green set new department-high mark of total honorees
IRVING, Texas – For the third consecutive year, UNT had more than 200 student-athletes who earned American Conference All-Academic honors in the 2025-26 year, the league announced on Wednesday.
In total, 221 Mean Green student-athletes were honored with an American All-Academic Team nod. This marked the most since joining the league in July 2022 and continued the three-year increase in total selections after the department boasted 208 in 2023-24 and 209 last year.
To be eligible for the honor, a nominee must have attained a minimum grade-point average of 3.00 for the preceding academic year, and completed a minimum of two consecutive semesters or three consecutive quarters of academic work, with a total of 18 semester or 27 quarter credits, not including remedial courses.
Earlier this month, the UNT women's golf team claimed the American Conference Team Academic Excellence Award for having the highest team GPA across the conference in its sport. This marked back-to-back years winning the award, as women's golf joined UNT swimming and diving (2023-24) and men's outdoor track and field (2023-24) as the only three Mean Green programs to win the award.
