Well after bouts with rain and snow, earthwork is back and going full speed ahead on the new stadium. If you are dialed into the time-lapse camera you can tell that the workers have gained lots of 'ground' in the last few days. The excavation team is working from sun up to sun down to maintain course with their portion of the project.
These days they are still working on soil conditioning to help reduce the amount swell that is possible. The type of treatment has been recommended by engineers after rigorous scrutiny. In some of today's pictures you can see that workers are making passes through specific areas and moving the soil to other areas of the site.
As the layers are moved they are also conditioned and compacted. This process will continue around the bowl as necessary.
What all of that means, I don't know, but resident stadium expert Brian Bethea gets a big assist for explaining it all.
All I know is it's nice to see big rigs back at it and digging away.
Hopefully the rain will go away and come another day so work can continue as planned.
