No. 27- Mitch Maher Destroys The School Record For Passing TDs
The 1994 season marked the end of the Division I-AA era for North Texas, but it also signaled the end of the greatest passing threat in school history – Mitch Maher.
Maher, who finished his career as the top quarterback in school history, went 231-of-370 for a school record 3,103 yards and 26 scores in his senior campaign of 1994. Even his pass efficiency mark of 190.89 still stands as the top mark in program history.
The North Texas Hall of Famer completed 62.4 percent of his passes that season, and even owns the career marks for passing attempts, completions, yards and 200-yard games.
It wouldn’t be until the Todd Dodge led team of 2007 until Maher’s records were even challenged.
