Five-For-Five: Two-Tone Leather Helmets

July 25, 2016

Long before logos appeared on helmets and before the beginnings of plastic shell we recognize today as a modern football helmet, North Texas used a two-tone leather helmet that looked more like an aviator's hat.
The bottom half of the helmet was a deep green and the bottom half was white, with a little hint of a wing shape extending from the green up into the white. It was combined with a green jersey and green pants with a wide white stripe on the side of the legs.
