UNT Athletics to Host Annual Kickoff Event August 8 at DATCU Stadium

Fans will have the opportunity to hear from AD Jared Mosley and all fall sport coaches
DENTON, Texas – North Texas Athletics will officially kick off the 2026-27 athletic season on Saturday, Aug. 8, with the UNT Athletics Kickoff Event at DATCU Stadium.
The free, family-friendly event gives Mean Green fans the opportunity to meet the football team, hear from department leadership and celebrate the start of another exciting year of UNT Athletics.
Festivities will begin at 3:30 p.m. on the West concourse outside Gate 2 and will feature a kid's zone, interactive activities and an autograph session with the Mean Green football team.
Programming inside the HUB Club on the third floor will begin at 4 p.m. and will include season updates from Vice President and Director of Athletics Jared Mosley, Head Football Coach Neal Brown, soccer Head Coach John Hedlund, volleyball Head Coach Dave Fleming and Director of Track and Field Doug Marshall as the Mean Green prepare for the 2026-27 campaign.
Fans will also have the opportunity to receive a 35% discount on select single game tickets at the event.
Fans in attendance will enjoy complimentary food, a cash bar, sponsor sampling opportunities and the official launch of the Desert Scrappy apparel line through Voertman's.
The UNT Athletics Kickoff Event is free and open to the public. Fans are encouraged to bring the entire family for an afternoon of fun while connecting with student-athletes, coaches and fellow members of Mean Green Nation before the start of the 2026-27 season.
Season tickets will also be available for purchase at the event as UNT continues its push for 10,000 season ticket holders for the 2026 football season.
