DENTON – Jalie Mitchell has signed a pair of transfers for the 2019-20 season in Rochelle Lee from Chattanooga and Quincy Noble of New Mexico.
Lee, a 6-3 forward, will join the Mean Green with two years of eligibility remaining after appearing in 55 games for the Mocs with 14 starts in two seasons. As a sophomore, Lee started a dozen contests and contributed 3.6 points and 2.0 rebounds. The Memphis, Tennessee, native scored a career-high 11 points versus N.C. State and collected seven rebounds against Northern Colorado. As a freshman, Lee played 19 minutes in her first collegiate start against Samford. She scored six points off the bench at N.C. State by shooting 3-of-5 and grabbed a season-high five rebounds against UNCG.
"Rochelle is an agile forward whose versatility gives us plenty of options offensively," Mitchell said. "Her length and defensive presence adds weapons that opponents will have to game plan for. She is full of potential! We look forward to watching her in action in her next season of eligibility as she works to make a name for herself in Conference USA."
Noble, a 5-10 guard, will have three seasons with the Mean Green following her freshman campaign with the Lobos. In 2018-19, the McKinney High School product played in 19 games for New Mexico averaging 1.9 points and shooting over 90 percent from the free throw line. Noble scored a career-high 10 points including a pair of 3-pointers versus Stephen F. Austin in 18 minutes of action. She grabbed three rebounds against Northern Arizona, blocked two shots versus Texas State, and had a pair of steals against San Jose State.
"Quincy is a savvy combo guard with great size who is returning home to leave her mark at UNT. She is a very intelligent and hard working leader whose maturity and experience is beyond her years. She is the ultimate triple threat! We are excited about what her return means for our culture and success on and off the court," Mitchell said.
