Mean Green to Hold Walk-On Tryouts

DENTON, Texas - The University of North Texas football program will hold walk-on tryouts for the spring 2020 semester, and they are open to any UNT student currently enrolled full-time who meets the UNT walk-on academic standards. We reserve the right to deny any student a tryout if that student does not meet UNT or NCAA eligibility standards.
Those interested need to contact the Coordinator of Football Operations George Matsakis to be placed on a list to go through the procedures to try out for the team. Please scan and email completed forms to George at george.matsakis@unt.edu with the subject line: 2020 SPRING WALK-ON TRYOUT by Wednesday, February 12th, 2020. In your email, please be sure to include the following information:
· Full Legal Name
· UNT student ID number
· Position (please list just one)
· Date of Birth
· Contact Number (cell number preferred)
All candidates must be enrolled in at least 12 or more credit hours for the spring semester and are required to complete and email the following paperwork to George prior to any tryout:
· Athletic Tryout Informed Consent and Release of Claims Waiver Form (Open here)
· Walk-on Tryout Prior Enrollment Form (Open here)
· Paperwork from a physical exam by their doctor within the last 6 months; Physician needs to state on the physical exam paperwork that you are cleared for intercollegiate athletics (must be submitted by Wednesday, Feb. 19)
· A copy of your Spring 2020 class schedule
At that point, those cleared academically and medically to try out will be notified about the procedures of the tryout.
