C-USA announces 2021 spring volleyball schedule

DALLAS – After more than a calendar year without volleyball, the North Texas Mean Green volleyball team is scheduled to return to the court. On Friday, Conference USA announced the volleyball league schedule for the 2021 spring season.
C-USA's volleyball schedule format will look a little different than recent years. Instead of playing on Friday and Sunday, teams will now play back-to-back matches on Sunday and Monday. In addition, schools will play the same institution for both matches in an effort to reduce travel amid COVID-19.
UNT will open conference play at the North Texas Volleyball Center against UAB on Sunday, Feb. 7 and Monday, Feb. 8. Game times and TV information will be determined at a later date.
The nonconference portion of the Mean Green's 2021 spring schedule is still being finalized.

There will be no changes to the C-USA Volleyball Tournament at the end of the season. C-USA still plans on having an eight-team tournament to decide who receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament in April 2021.
The NCAA tournament will also be reduced from 64 teams to 48 teams, with 32 automatic bids and 16 at-large bids. The 2021 NCAA Volleyball Final Four will be held in Omaha, Nebraska, from April 23-25.
As UNT Athletics continues to evaluate health and safety protocols surrounding the return to competition for volleyball, information regarding fan attendance and tickets will be made available at a later date.
