Football Wraps Spring Practice on Saturday

DENTON – The Mean Green football program will host their final spring practice of the year on Saturday, March 27 at noon. The practice, taking place at Apogee Stadium, will end with an intra-squad scrimmage.
As the spring practice season draws to a close, the Mean Green remain focused on improving from the 2020 season, which culminated in the program's fourth bowl appearance in five seasons. The practice sessions, a key part of development that was absent in 2020 due to COVID-19 protocols, have allowed the team to mesh with the new faces on the coaching staff, including new defensive coordinator and safeties coach Phil Bennett, Jim Gush (linebackers), Jarred Holley (cornerbacks), Blake Joseph (quarterbacks) and Matt Passwaters (defensive line).
Mean Green football will begin their season at home on September 4 against Northwestern State. North Texas will also host UAB, Marshall, Liberty, UTEP and UTSA and will have away games against SMU, Louisiana Tech, Missouri, Rice, Southern Miss and FIU. 2021 season ticket renewals are still ongoing. Prices are unchanged from previous seasons and will remain as low as $70. Multiple payment plan options are available for season-ticket renewals. Various parking options and chair backs are also available as additions. Season ticket renewal invoices are based on ticket holders' seat locations from the 2019 season.
Saturday's practice will be open to the public. University COVID-19 protocols will be enforced at Saturday's practice. Fans will be asked to practice social distancing withing Apogee Stadium, and masks are required to be worn unless eating or drinking.
