Wilson Earns Defensive C-USA Player of the Week Honor

Sophomore DB becomes third UNT player to earn Defensive POTW honors
DALLAS – For the second time in three weeks, the North Texas football team had a player named the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week as DB Logan Wilson earned the accolade for the first time in his collegiate career.
Wilson finished the day with five tackles, including three solo stops, an interception and two pass break-ups in the 40-13 win at WKU on Saturday. Wilson's first career interception with 11:54 to play came in the red zone and ended a potential scoring drive for the Hilltoppers.
The sophomore DB from Dallas joins KD Davis and Ridge Texada as one of three UNT defenders to win conference player of the week honors. It is the first time since joining C-USA that the Mean Green have had three different players earn POTW honors on the defensive side of the ball in the same season.
Wilson was a significant contributor for a defense that held WKU, C-USA's highest scoring team coming into the week (37.5 points per game) to 13 points scored through the three quarters, the fewest points the Hilltoppers have scored through three quarters all season. North Texas recorded its first second half shutout since Nov. 6, 2021, at Southern Miss.
This season, Wilson has 16 tackles, four PBUs, an interception and a fumble recovery.
