DENTON, Texas – After earning an at-large bid, Victor Neiva is set to represent North Texas cross country Saturday at the 2022 NCAA Division I Men's Cross Country Championship in Stillwater, Okla.
"This meet is one of the hardest competitions to make, NCAA or otherwise," UNT cross country coach Erik Stevens said. "To earn a spot here means you're one of the best. Victor has shown that he is one of the best, and has the drive and desire to be the best. He's ready, and he's focused. I'm excited to see what he is able to do against the field."
Neiva earned the at-large bid after finishing 10th at the NCAA South Central Regional in Bryan-College Station. The junior from Keller, Texas, was one of 38 individuals selected to participate in the championship through the automatic qualifier and at-large selection process.
"I'm going into this race with a lot of confidence," Neiva said. "I'll surprise a lot of people on race day."
Oklahoma State University is hosting the NCAA Championships at The Greiner Family OSU Cross Country Course. The men's 10K will begin at 10:10 a.m. CT, and will be broadcast live on ESPNU and ESPN+. Live results will be provided by Prime Time Timing
