North Texas Falls in Opening Round of WNIT

DENTON, Texas – North Texas women's basketball (17-13) fell to the Tulsa Hurricanes (17-10) in the Round of 64 in the Women's National Invitational on Thursday night inside the Super Pit, 75-62. Tulsa made 94 percent of its free throws from the charity stripe to North Texas' 50 percent.
McKinney native, Quincy Noble registered double figures for the 23rd time this season with 15 points. Amber Dixon was electric scoring 23 points, shooting 8-of-12 from the floor.
"It was a tough loss", coach Jalie Mitchell said. "I'm proud of how our team battled all season long, they never gave up."
The 62 points scored by the Mean Green was the highest total the program has scored in a postseason tournament not including conference tournaments. The 17 wins by UNT this season ties for the fifth-most in program history.
