Track & Field: Esposito, Roy Shine at Texas Relays

DENTON, Texas – Alec Esposito won the men's 1,500 meters "B" section, and Makayla Roy took third in the women's javelin "B" section to lead North Texas Track & Field Thursday at the Texas Relays in Austin, Texas.

Esposito set a personal-best time of 3:48.40 to take home the victory at Mike Myers Stadium and move into the No. 6 performer spot all-time in the UNT outdoor 1,500 meters. Braden Lange finished right behind in sixth with a personal best of his own (3:50.67).

Roy, a freshman from Fullarton, Ontario, recorded a personal-best mark of 158-4 (48.27m) to place third in the javelin.

Jordan Coates-McBride took 19th out of 45 in the men's 400-meter hurdles U/C timed final with a time of 54.66, and Vitus Hansgaard placed seventh in the men's javelin "B" section with a throw of 194-8 (59.35m) to round out the day one competitors for the Mean Green.
