Track & Field Travels West for Trio of California Meets
4/12/2022 3:52:00 PM | Track & Field/XC
Mean Green will take 30 student-athletes to the Golden State.
DENTON, Texas – North Texas Track & Field will split to three different meets in California from April 13-16, including the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif., the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, Calif., and the Beach Invitational in Long Beach, Calif.
Â
"California's cool for us," director of track & field Carl Sheffield said. "It is a chance to get away and race for a few days without training. They get their legs back this week, and the level of competition at the meets we're going to fits where we are right now. So, hopefully we can go up and improve on some of those marks that we have."
Â
Thirty Mean Green student-athletes will be competing in the three meets over the four-day span, starting with the Bryan Clay Invitational April 13-15. The Mt. SAC Relays will take place from April 14-16, and the Beach Invitational will be April 15-16.
Â
Following UNT's home North Texas Classic, the Mean Green are ranked 14th in the South Central Region on the men's side and 28thon the women's side.
Â
Live results for all three meets with be provided by Finished Results, with updates from Azusa located here, Walnut here and Long Beach here.
Â
The rest of the UNT team will be back in action next weekend (April 22-23) at the Michael Johnson Invitational in Waco, Texas.
