
Volleyball Falls in Four at UTEP

EL PASO, Texas – UNT volleyball dropped its first-round match of the National Invitational Volleyball Championship 3-1 to UTEP on Friday at Memorial Gym.
The Mean Green (17-16) finished its season after the fourth postseason berth in program history ended with the four-set loss (22-25, 21-25, 25-17, 20-25) to the Miners (22-9).
Treyaunna Rush led the offense with 11 kills and 30 attacks. She added three digs and two blocks to total 12.5 points. Over two seasons in Denton, Rush accumulated 775 kills to lead North Texas in the category in each of the last two seasons.
Sh'Diamond Holly also tallied 12.5 points with eight blocks, four kills, three aces and three digs. She punctuated her stint at UNT with a .393 career hitting percentage to rate first in program history. Holly also ranks fifth in the American Athletic Conference record book with a .413 hitting percentage on the season.
Ceci Harness recorded her ninth double-double of the season with 12 assists and 10 digs.
Aleeyah Galdeira capped her historic North Texas career with 10 digs and nine assists. She ranks first in program history with 139 matches played and second with 1,860 career digs.
Aryn Johnson set a new UNT career high with five aces including two in the third set win. She added seven kills and three digs for 12 points.
Trinity Watts provided a spark from the bench with a season-high six kills, 15 attacks and three blocks over two sets.
