UNT Women Lead Going to Final Day of The Bruzzy

ARDMORE, Okla. - UNT junior Ellie Roth continued her run of hot play on Saturday and led the way for the Mean Green on Day 1 of The Bruzzy at Dornick Hills Golf & Country Club.
Roth shot a 72-67 to head into Sunday's final round at 1-under par in second place, just one shot off the lead, and was one of four UNT golfers who are in the top-10 on the leaderboard heading into Sunday, as the Mean Green are eight shots clear of the field at 3-over par after they were the only team to break par in the second of two rounds Saturday. Roth's second-round 67 was the low score of the day over the two rounds.
Roth was followed up by Emilie Ricaud and Patricia Sinolungan, who are tied for fifth at 1-over, and Audrey Tan, who is tied for 10th at 2-over.
Sophomore Sakura Sugiyama, who is competing as an individual, is tied for 17th at 5-over par to round out the top-20 showings for UNT heading into the final round.
The Mean Green will be paired on Sunday with Tulsa, Purdue and Texas Tech and will look to hold on to their lead in the final tuneup tournament before the Conference USA Championship.
