Roth, Sinolungan Tied For Lead, UNT in Front At C-USA

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. - The UNT women's golf team holds an 11-shot lead at the Conference USA Championship, and Mean Green teammates Ellie Roth and Patricia Sinolungan are co-leaders - two shots up on third place - ahead of Saturday's final round with UNT aiming for a third straight conference championship.
UNT, which was part of the final pairing, had to finish Round 1 at PGA National early Friday morning before starting the second round after about an hour break, and the Mean Green began Round 2 in a tie for first with Western Kentucky before building their lead to double-digits by the end of the day.
Roth led the way for the team in the second round with an even-par 72 to edge Sinolungan's 1-over 73, while Audrey Tan and Shreya Pal, who was subbed in for the second round to replace Sakura Sugiyama, followed with 3-over 75s. Tan is in eighth place at 3-over for the tournament.
At stake Saturday will be what UNT hopes is a three-peat as C-USA champions, which would mark the first time a C-USA team has won three titles in a row since South Florida from 1998-2000. If Roth or Sinolungan can hang on for the individual crown, it would be the second in three years, and in history, for the program after Tan won in 2021.
The Mean Green will be paired with Western Kentucky and UTSA for the final round, with golfers set to tee off beginning at 10:57 a.m., through 11:33 a.m.
