Mean Green set to play in five tournaments this fall
DENTON, Texas – In its first year under head coach Amanda Stone, the UNT women's tennis team has revealed its fall schedule for the 2023 season, starting with a home tournament at Waranch Tennis Complex in early September.
The Mean Green will play in five tournaments in the fall, with trips to Arkansas, Mississippi and Oklahoma from mid-September to early November.
The schedule kicks off with the Mean Green Invite in Denton Sept. 15-17, as fans will get their first look at 23-24 squad. Admission to the event will be free to all spectators.
UNT will then travel to Conway, Ark., to play in the UCA Invite hosted by Central Arkansas Sept. 29-Oct. 1.
The ITA Regionals, where the Mean Green have advanced a doubles team into the semifinal of the main draw in back-to-back seasons, will return Oct. 12-16 in Waco, Texas on the campus of Baylor University.
North Texas will then turn its attention to Starkville, Miss., it will compete in the John Cade Invitational hosted by Mississippi State Oct. 27-29.
Finally, UNT closes its fall schedule with the Hurricane Invite in Tulsa, Okla., hosted by AAC opponent Tulsa.
All fall tournaments are held as individual events in both singles and doubles competitions before dual match play begins in January running throughout the spring. The spring dual schedule for the Mean Green will be revealed at a later date.
