Women's Golf Opens Play in Loaded OU Event

NORMAN, Okla. - The UNT women's golf team opened play at the Schooner Fall Classic on Saturday and ended Round 1 in a tie for sixth with two days left to play against a loaded field.
The Mean Green ended the opening day at 4-over par, tied with with Oklahoma, Kansas State and Purdue, one shot back of fifth-place Iowa State and four shots clear of Oklahoma State. UNT was led by senior Shreya Pal, who shot a 2-under 68, as sophomore Mason Lewis shot an even-par 70. Pal is tied for eighth on the individual leaderboard heading to Round 2 on Sunday.
The Mean Green will be paired with Purdue and Kansas State on Sunday with second-round tee times beginning at 9 a.m.
