
Cross Country Heads to Chile Pepper Festival

Women’s 5K set for 4:30 p.m., while men’s 8K begins at 5 p.m.
DENTON, Texas – UNT cross country is set for the Chile Pepper XC Festival Friday evening in Fayetteville, Ark.
"I'm really excited to get on the regional course and see how the group manages the race day scenario," UNT cross country coach Erik Stevens said. "I think we are in a really good spot within the training block, and I feel like that can transition well to the 8k and 5k, respectively."

A total of 70 collegiate teams will race in the 35th Chile Pepper Festival, including the Mean Green.

The UNT women's team will begin from Box 41 in the Harter's Habanero College Women's 5K, which starts at 4:30 p.m. CT. The men's team will run from Box 22 in the McDonnell Memorial College Men's 8K beginning at 5 p.m. CT.
The season debut of Victor Neiva highlights a full roster for the Mean Green in Arkansas. Joining Neiva on the men's team will be Mason Garner, Luke Canon, Alan Proenza, Jake Johnson, Jake Meyering and Hardy Swann. The women's team will be represented by Aditi Silwal, Trinity Trotter, Tiblets Abreha, Amy Pritchard, Miranda Vreeland, Marisa Jacober and Addison Sykora.
